Is it really good to give money for the beggars in the street?Well, it depends upon your purpose..

Saturday afternoon, aroung 5pm, I went to the church to pray. Luckily, there was a mass just started on (The first reading is about to start). Thanks God I was able to join the mass.
After the mass, I went to the prayer room and had my reflection.

Then I came out of that room and finally made myself highly-spirited. Outside the church, I saw a woman sitting at the side of the alley. She had dusts from her face and her clothes were not clean. I think she was from her mid 40's of age.Well, she is begging for money while holding a plastic cup from her left hand. From her right arm was a baby. She was carrying her baby..I wondered, what was she considering as her true riches, the one she held from her left, or the baby from her right? It's so sad to think.
In short, she was a beggar begging for a drop of coin from me..The moment I came near to her, a thought entered my mind, "Should I give her a coin?", I wondered..Then another thought came to me, "Is it good to give her what she asked for?"..Being undecided, I never did anything. In short, I just ignored her and I continued on my walk.If I give her a coin, it could not truly sustain forever. It cannot help her life that much.
As I continued walking, something is bothering me.It's my conscience!!Oh my God!In my mind I asked the Lord, "Lord, what is the right thing to do?".I kept walking as my mind grew in awe and frustations..Then I stopped.I turned back, and I threw my sight to where the old woman is sitting. Then another thought came to me, "If I give her coins, will this truly help her".. Oh God, I really want to help the poor since I was in highscool. I have pity for the poor. I myself had been a victim of so much poverty when I was still young. Now, how can I really help that woman?A kind of help that is not superficial, that is not temporary?A kind of help that is EVERLASTING?...

I made a dep sigh, and with my conscience driving me, I went back to the woman who begged me for money..Then I realized, that I think I can help her by means of telling her something about God..To believe in God is to embrace SALVATION, and salvation means HEAVEN!!!Heaven is real, and I want this woman to go to heaven where there is no hunger, no pain and no frustations. I want her to be saved by believing that God is there....
So I went back to her, came close to her, and I picked coins on my pocket and dropped it to her precious cup..But it is not just an ordinary dropping of coins to her cup, because as I dropped the coins, I made this statement in my humblest and gentlest way, "Believe in God.".And she responded by nodding and smiling at me..That's it!!!!

I learned a very important lesson today..It's not really a matter of what you give but it depends merely on the purpose of giving it..I gave coins to that woman because I want to tell her that God loves her and she must believe in God so that she may have full riches in heaven..

I love you Lord!!
